Our People

Behind every legal matter is a person navigating something that matters deeply, a separation, a lost loved one, a business at a crossroads, a dispute that’s taken a toll. At Belperio Connell, we never lose sight of that.

Our team brings together legal expertise across family law, wills and estates, business, property, and dispute resolution, but what sets us apart is how we work. We approach every client with genuine care, plain communication, and a focus on resolution rather than prolonging conflict.

While our team grows and evolves to meet the needs of our clients, one thing remains constant: the commitment to showing up for you with skill, compassion, and complete dedication. You will always be dealing with people who take your matter seriously, not just as a case file, but as a chapter of your life that deserves to be handled with respect.

Whether your situation is urgent or complex, straightforward or deeply personal, you will find a team here that listens first and acts with purpose.

Charlie Belperio — Director

Charlie Belperio is the Director of Belperio Connell and the cornerstone of everything the firm stands for. His leadership shapes not just the firm’s legal standards, but its culture, one built on genuine care, honest advice, and a commitment to achieving the best outcome for every client.

With extensive experience across family law, mediation, and collaborative practice, Charlie brings both depth of knowledge and a grounded understanding of what clients are going through. He is known for his steady, thoughtful approach, one that cuts through complexity without losing sight of the person at the centre of it.

About Charlie

Charlie was admitted to legal practice in 1990 and has worked in private practice since that time. He is passionate about helping clients and providing sensible advice, solutions, and options. He prides himself on treating each client as an important individual and as if he or she were a member of his family. Charlie is very approachable and offers after hours and weekend appointments as required to ensure that the unique needs of each of his clients are met.

Charlie is trained in Collaborative Law and is also a mediator. Charlie encourages the resolution of disputes out of Court. Where Court action is required, Charlie assists clients to resolve matters sensibly thus minimising the financial and non-financial costs of an ongoing dispute.

Charlie was born to a large, close immigrant family and grew up working in the family market garden.  He has had a lifelong involvement with small business (ownership, management, working in) and  proudly served in the Army Reserve (3/9 SAMR) for many years. Charlie speaks Italian and spends his time away from the law with family and friends ,travel,  motor bikes, bell ringing and trying to .learn to dance and cook (not at the same time). Charlie draws on his business and life experiences and over a third of a century in the law to provide clients with holistic and sensible legal advice.
