Charlie was admitted to legal practice in 1990 and has worked in private practice since that time. He is passionate about helping clients and providing sensible advice, solutions, and options. He prides himself on treating each client as an important individual and as if he or she were a member of his family. Charlie is very approachable and offers after hours and weekend appointments as required to ensure that the unique needs of each of his clients are met.
Charlie is trained in Collaborative Law and is also a mediator. Charlie encourages the resolution of disputes out of Court. Where Court action is required, Charlie assists clients to resolve matters sensibly thus minimising the financial and non-financial costs of an ongoing dispute.
With ever-changing laws, Charlie is committed to ongoing professional development. He invests a significant amount of time and resources in ensuring that his legal knowledge is current and of a very high standard.
Charlie was born to a large, close immigrant family and grew up working in the family market garden. He proudly served in the Army Reserve (3/9 SAMR) for many years. Charlie speaks Italian and spends his time away from the law with family and friends and helping to manage a family-owned cafe. Charlie draws on his business and life experiences and over a third of a century in the law to provide clients with holistic and sensible legal advice.
Brendan has been practicing law for almost 40 years, and has extensive experience across a wide range of practice areas.
Brendan has looked after numerous clients in all South Australian Civil and Commercial Courts, in injury, insurance and superannuation claims, and in matters concerning general commercial and business transactions.
As part of his commercial career, Brendan has been a director of over 20 public companies gaining considerable experience in corporate governance, due diligence and corporate finance.
For 10 years, Brendan was a board member of the Law Society of South Australia’s Litigation Assistance Fund. He is a past president of the Australian Plaintiff Lawyers Association, and of the Australian Lawyers Alliance, and has represented the Law Society of South Australia in a Government enquiry into access to justice.
Brendan is passionate about equal pay for equal work, and in his spare time he enjoys reading, cooking, sports and travelling.
Eugene joined Belperio Clark in 2009. In addition to his Law degree, Eugene holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Adelaide and a Masters of Intellectual Property Law from the University of Melbourne.
Eugene has an enormous amount of experience across several areas of practice. Before joining Belperio Clark, he ran his own firm, ‘Reinboths – Business and Intellectual Property Law’ and before that enjoyed working as the managing partner of a long-standing Adelaide law firm.
As well as representing individuals, Eugene acts for companies, small businesses, partnerships, franchisors, franchisees, not for profit organisations, restaurateurs, landlords and tenants. He also regularly represents owners and builders in disputes arising from building and construction contracts.
Eugene speaks and writes Hindi and has a good understanding of India’s culture and business environment.
Over the years, Eugene has tutored and lectured in various law subjects. He currently lectures in Corporations Law at Federation University’s Adelaide Campus.
In his spare time, he enjoys rock n roll dancing, playing tennis and spending time supporting his son’s sporting activities.
Liam obtained a Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice (Honours) from Flinders University in 2004.
Since his admission to the High Court of Australia, Federal Court of Australia and Supreme Court of South Australia in 2004 (and, subsequently, to the Supreme Court of NSW in 2005), Liam has practiced exclusively in Commercial Dispute Resolution and Litigation.
Whilst Liam acts for large and small corporate entities and individuals in all areas of commercial law, he is highly sought after for his work in agribusiness, wine law, intellectual property, building and construction, property, defamation, negligence and competition and consumer law. Liam also has a keen interest in matters concerning the compulsory acquisition of land, administrative law, professional indemnity, franchising, partnership dissolution, insolvency, Corporations Act matters and director/shareholder disputes.
Liam was listed in the 2016 Doyles Guide as a Recommended Leading Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution Lawyer, and has since been included in Best Lawyers’ annual publications for his expertise in Alternative Dispute Resolution (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 editions) and for his high calibre work in Litigation (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 editions).
With a pragmatic approach to commercial disputes, Liam prefers to focus on exploring early alternative dispute resolution options. Where, however, court proceedings are unavoidable, Liam’s knowledge, experience and tenacity places his clients in the best possible position to achieve a successful outcome.
With 34 years of experience in private practice, Judith is an experienced commercial transactions lawyer and recognised specialist in Australian tax and revenue law. Her extensive expertise include documenting and advising in corporate, commercial and trust law matters and associated tax implications.
Judith’s most recent role was a Director at KPMG Law. Before that, she was a senior partner in the corporate division at Piper Alderman lawyers and the National Head of the Tax and Revenue section.
Her distinguished career also includes representing the Law Council of Australia on the National Tax Liaison Group GST sub-committee. Judith is a Chartered Tax Adviser with the Tax Institute of Australia, an Accredited Adviser with Family Business Australia and a Governor of the College of Law Limited.
Advising on a broad range of commercial matters, Steven strives to help his clients by tailoring sensible and cost-effective advice for them.
Steven was admitted to practice in 2013 after completing a double degree in Law and International Studies (Honours in Politics).
Steven grew up in Berri, in South Australia’s Riverland region. Following his admission to practice, Steven returned to his country origins and worked for nine years in busy regional firms, where he provided personalised legal services for businesses and individuals.
As the law continues to evolve, Steven is committed to his continuing professional development so that he may continue to find practical solutions for his clients.
Steven is pragmatic and approachable. In his spare time, you will most likely find him coaching junior basketball, on the golf course or catching up with family and friends.
Lawrence graduated from the University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Law (Honours) degree in 2022 and was admitted to practice in March 2023. Working as a paralegal since early 2021 and a strong background in the hospitality industry has developed Lawrence’s client and service focus., Lawrence is committed to achieving the best result for his clients and enjoys developing positive and meaningful relationships with clients and other professionals. When not at work Lawrence enjoys spending time with friends and family, supporting his beloved Chelsea FC and riding his motorbike through the Adelaide Hills.
Sally Monaghan is currently studying a Bachelors of Laws and a Bachelor of Accounting at the University of Adelaide.
